Corel announced last Wednesday the availability for preorder of the latest upgrade to its natural painting and illustration tool Painter X. The the new upgrade features a new painting system called RealBristle that enhances the responsiveness of brushes to create a highly realistic experience. Other new features include new composition tools, an enhanced photo-painting system, speed improvements, and new features for backup and sharing. Painter X expected to be shipped by the end of this month for Windows XP, Windows Vista, and OS X. The full version of Painter is expected to be priced at $429, while the upgrade should cost $229, and the education version $99.
