Adobe officially announced at a recent event that it will halt the development of Freehand, the vector based drawing tool, and GoLive, the web development tool, to concentrate on the creation of the new iterations of Illustrator and Dreamweaver. This does not come a surprise as the acquisition of Macromedia by Adobe last year resulted in Adobe having a collection of competing applications that did the same basic job. Users of Freehand and GoLive might not miss them completely as some of their noticeable features might find their way in the upcoming versions of Illustrator and Dreamweaver.
